artsy fartsy...

As I get older, I get stranger.  I know that's hard for some of you to believe... that I could get any stranger than I already am... but I mean with my tastes.  If you told me a few years ago that I would have a Gargoyle in a Bird cage in my front yard, I'd have laughed myself silly... but he's out there now.

So this canvas was WAY out of the box for me art-wise - but today it feels right... Melody is teaching me some good tricks and gave me permission to just let GO with my art.  Not be so rigid... take my scrapbooker's eye and look a little to the left... lol

Thanks for looking - today was just a 'have fun' day... no soul restoring.

the 2 sides of me...

Week 3 involved your weak safe and your strong self... and getting the two to live together as one.  This was actually a fun lesson for me, I actually journaled (highly unusual for me) and enjoyed creating the pages... with the exception of the wrinkly paper from the mod podge. I'm not letting it bother me. I'm not letting it bother me. I'm not letting it bother me...

Timeline....

The timeline was extremely emotional for me to do. It made me face many of the things in my life that I've buried... the death of my father, my cancer... losing my mom... and the good things too - like my first love... to be continued...

My bravest thing ever...

An artist's canvas... using dimensional paint and a tim mask... the canvas itself isn't the bravest thing ever, it's the prayer and what it means to me...

God Box

A God Box for a friend celebrating 4 years at the end of this month... she is such an inspiration to me, and it's her job to read The Set Aside Prayer at every Thursday night meeting.  Her voice is so perfect for it - and it's just not the same when she's not there to read it.  I will always associate her with that prayer.

Whoops. Out of order.

Oh well.  Forgot to post the first page FIRST.  This does not surprise me.

My Soul House spread...

Welcome! This is my Soul House, and it's guarded fiercely by my Treeber... the one that lives there and loves me unconditionally.  The moon is visible on both pages - so that I can always remember to keep those people where they belong... and never let them back into my home...

My Soul House...

Soul Restoration has begun... and it's incredible. It's more than I dreamed - and it's consumed my being.  All I want to do is stay home and create... and clean house...

Here is the cover of my Soul House...

Not everything is Brave... LOL

There will be regular stuff in here too - regular crafty stuff.
Bling.  This shot came from our shore trip this past summer.  There were no pics of me and hb - or even ME for that matter because I'm always the photographer.  So one of our friends grabbed my camera to take a shot of us.  She'd had a few glasses of wine.  This was the best of the bunch.

Brave birdie...

Every year I do a project (or two) based on my word for the year.  2011 is my Brave year.  I couldn't resist this little chipboard bird album in the dollar spot at Michael's.  Actually, it ended up being 37 cents.  Now, if I could just figure out how to get this writing ABOVE the first pic, I'd be in business.  Forgive my growing pains... Faded Rainbows uses old style blogger stuff.  ;-)

Welcome...

I've created My Brave Soul to showcase everything I will be working on for Brave Girls Club and Soul Restoration! I sat here for a few minutes trying to come up with a catchy name for the blog - and realized that My Brave Soul says it best.

Going along with my word for 2011 - Brave - and restoring my soul - it was kind of a lightbulb moment.

All my silly ramblings and stories will still be posted to Faded Rainbows.  If my addled brain could just figure out how to link that blog with this blog, it would be good.  Maybe one of my techy friends *cough*you know who you are*cough* could tell me how.

I love followers and I love comments. Just sayin'.

Heart you all!
