Tears...
I struggled with this canvas. It seemed to be jinxed from the get-go. It looked SO much better in my head. Then a mod-podge incident... then a feeling of 'something just isn't right'... it wasn't coming together, and I was greatly disappointed.
So I posted it in my Soul Restoration group and asked for help. Nancy gave me some tips - she's a fantastic artist - and I played with the canvas a bit... knowing that if worse came to worse, the only thing I'd lost was time.
I'm much happier with what it morphed in to. Now... deciding whether or not to put it in the store...

JAD's challenges...
I created two cards for the DT challenges at JAD's yesterday. The first one was using a Bug-A-Boo stamp - Mine is "Stella - All about the bling". I LOVE Stella. She's ME. I colored her in with colored pencils, but I know I'm just a few clicks away from buying Copics. It's just a matter of time. She's all blinged out with Stickles, but it didn't photo well. Even her shoes sparkle.
Here's Stella, she's placed on Core-dinations black cs, and I added some bling courtesy of Recollections.
Then I had to make something for the "GREEN" challenge. This was a no-brainer for me. My sponsor is celebrating 2 years today, and I made her a glass cube... but I needed to make her a card also. She is all about 'green'... right now her fingers and toes are painted green (well, the NAILS are).
So a green card would fit the challenge perfectly. The paper was included in a pack that I picked up at a garage sale, and the cs is also Core'dinations. Love to sand it and get a prezzie each time. The butterfly represents her sister, who passed away when she was 15. So everything I do for her has a butterfly on it.
I am SO not a card maker - these 2 will probably be the last 2 you'll see for a long time. TFL! If you'd like to get in on some of the fun challenges over at JAD's - click HERE.

Friendship
I absolutely loved the way the background turned out on this canvas. I started out with the tissue paper technique as a base - spreading a layer of mod podge, then placing a layer of black tissue paper on top. Then smoosh. (very technical term) I just spread the paper and twisted it and turned it and bunched it... you have to work QUICKLY - mod podge sets up pretty fast on tissue paper.
Let it dry completely. Then I decided to try a mask and some glimmer mist. Eh. Didn't do much for me, but while the glimmer mist was still a bit damp, I dusted the canvas with copper Perfect Pearls. I took a balled up paper towel and just rubbed. And rubbed... until I got the effect I wanted. It almost looks metallic - and really dirty, grungy. Then I inked the edges with black Staz-On to give it a burnt look.

calamity jane!
Ok - the art doll sold within about 10 minutes in the shop. LOL So here's Calamity Jane... loved this quote!!!! I'd been looking and looking for a quote to go along with this bicycle girl... and that's the one that finally did it.
earth laughs in flowers...
My first Art Doll for JADS. I was ascared of trying it - but knew at some point I'd have to bite the bullet and just DO IT ANWAY. ;-) So I killed 2 birds with 1 stone (another wink) and did a canvas... which of course is available in the Etsy shop. TFL!
